National Round 1 Round-up

This saw Harry take the trip down to Plymouth to take on Newnham Park in his first National Race and first race off island. It had been a long winter of training both braving the poor weather and boring turbo sessions.

Harry took to the line on Saturday afternoon not knowing what to expect, after the first lap it was evident it was going to be a hard race.

A solid start put Harry in a group of 4 behind the top 2, when it came to the long climb section of the course Harry decided it was time to get a move on so he overtook the group trying to bridge a gap, this gap would put him in 3rd, however later on in this lap it would prove that this caused a lapse in concentration and led to a crash which would mean he would lose 6 places and fall back down to 10th.

Harry said “finding rhythm then became quite difficult and it was just about survival for the rest of the race!”.

Harry finished in P10, but now has his sights set on Tong where he hopes not to crash and be challenging for a podium spot!
